Wednesday 22 May 2024 will go down as an important day in the history of MX Lierneux. It was on 22 May that Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Minister President of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, accompanied by André Samray, Mayor of Lierneux, Joël Smets, former World Champion, and of course André Mathieu, the pioneer of this fabulous project, who for over three years, despite many constraints, never gave up, officially inaugurated the MX Lierneux Yamaha Racing. A large crowd gathered at André Mathieu’s invitation, including Walloon MP Philippe Courard, representatives of the Francorchamps circuit and General Manager Amaury Bertholomé, The East Belgian Racing Team was also well represented, as were a number of local councillors and aldermen from the municipalities of Lierneux and Vielsalm, as well as a number of professional drivers, including Amandine Verstappen, Lotte Van Drunen and Benoit Paturel. …
